I hear your arguments, and yet, if this drug was already widely available, would anyone wish to withdraw it to bolster the fast-food industry and help people enjoy the satisfaction of achieving a difficult result without ozempic? Maybe not. I’m all for embracing it and seeing where it takes us :)

Totally agree - but my point was less concern for the fast-food industry and more that they would be massively impacted and a) need to be aware of it/ adjust/ pivot accordingly b) that we should probably expect the lobbyists for that sector to wade in and c) we could experience huge economic change as a result. I like the potential too (if that wasn't clear)- I'm just fascinated by the scale of the potential ramifications.

I’m sure they’re already lobbying against the changes. However, given how much of a problem obesity is for everyone, rich and poor, I think the demand will overpower everything. Plus, as you’ve said, given the size of the opportunity, someone somewhere is already working on generic versions.
